Mama's got a brand new bag!
Ok, so it's a dorky title. But I'm just so darn proud of myself. I had to show off my latest creation. I made this bag all by myself! I found an awesome
tutorial online and ended up with this great bag. I wasn't sure how well it would go on my first attempt, so I found some fabrics in the remnant bin at Joann's for around $5 and went to work. I am so happy with it that I can see myself making several more!
See...lots of pockets inside too. One is big and one is split, so my phone & keys can go in there without getting lost. Next, I need to find directions for a cell phone holder and make one to match each bag :)
P.S. In real life, the colors match more closely than they appear to in the pictures. They both have the same creamy white background - I promise!
Daddy's Three Girls
Scott was behind the camera on Easter so we don't have a shot of him, but he did manage to capture some good photos of his three girls. I even like the one of me!
Egg Hunting
After lunch, the kids hunted for eggs. Kathy & I set up separate areas for the little ones so that they didn't get ran over, and they hunted first. Both Molly & Trevor were pretty methodical about their hunting. See an egg, pick it up, go get the next one. Till they'd either found all they could fine, or got bored!

For the older kids, we scattered about 60 eggs around the rest of the yard - under stuff, in stuff, all over my parents' yard. They ran all over looking for those eggs, and we're pretty sure they found them all :)
Easter Morning
We spent the night Saturday at my parents' house so the Easter Bunny had to find us in Mercersburg. The girls were up bright & early, but we managed to hold them off till 7 or so. Their baskets were hidden around the living room as were a few other goodies. They enjoyed the morning hunt and settled down to play with their treasures for the rest of the morning till their cousins arrived.

Sundresses
They had this neat-o pre-shirred fabric at Joann's and I thought it would be fun to make the girls sundresses out of it. With Molly's, I decided to make the skirt tiered, so that it would be more twirly. I think hers came out adorable.
I had planned to do the same with Megan's, but she had other plans. She wanted me to make it straight, so I did. She also wanted her straps criss-crossed in the back, which I tried. Unfortunately, I think that just made it pucker. Also, the fabric I got for hers had a longer section shirred than Molly's did. I think it is too long because it comes down over her belly and doesn't lay very nicely. Maybe if they have it on sale sometime, I'll try another one for Megan with the shorter fabric.
Riding Lessons
We took the girls over to the school parking lot near our house to practice riding their bikes. Megan rode a few times without her training wheels last year, so we wanted to see how it would go without them this year. She did ok, but she really needs to regain her confidence. She kept asking if we would put them back on so that it would be easier for her.
And Molly needs to learn to pedal - she gets frustrated because her trike is "not working" when she sits there with her feet on the pedals! Let's just say it's going to take a lot of practice for them both!
Swing!

Megan loves to swing...she always has. She can get so high that sometimes it scares me - and even more so when I think that she'll probably be jumping off sometime soon!

She just looks like she's flying, so happy and carefree. Whee!
Gotcha!
Megan was just racing around the yard like a crazy person and kept saying, "Try to catch me, try to catch me." She had so much energy to burn off and was having a blast just running around. I was thrilled to get such a great shot of her in all that madness - the joy on her face just brings a smile to mine!
