Sweet Molly

This is my favorite photo of Molly from our adventures this evening. It reminds me of how fast Molly is growing up into a young lady - she's definitely not a baby anymore (even though she's still teeny-tiny!) She wakes up happy and she goes to bed happy. Of course, she's 3, so she has her stubborn "no" moments; but for the most part, she just goes with the flow. On top of that, her sense of humor is awesome - she makes us laugh with some of her dead-pan sarcasm and other jokes she makes. She is just so much fun to be around - even though I miss her being a baby sometimes, I am loving every minute of watching her grow up.
Monkey Molly
Molly and I had an opportunity to hang out one-on-one tonight while Megan was on a long bike ride with her Daddy. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. First we took her trike over to the school parking lot and she rode around for a bit. And then she rode around the block and back home. Our neighbor Alexis tagged along - she's a bit older than the girls, but she loves to play with them. And they both love her, too.

Then a little hopscotch on the teeny-tiny board that the girls had drawn earlier. Seriously, Molly's feet barely fit into the squares.

And then some swinging. Very, very high swinging. This girl scares me with how high she goes...she can make the swingset rock all by herself. We really have to watch her!

And some climbing. She did get pretty far up, but not all the way.

This is just a sampling. More daring feats were performed after I put the camera down. I'm afraid to think what she does when I'm not standing right there. No wonder my hair is turning grey!
Hula Karate?
Molly has also been getting in on the hula hoop action.

Hi-ya!

Ya!

Ya!

She doesn't really hula, but she can keep it up a time or two around. And half the time she falls on the ground in a heap of laughter at the end. Or spins like crazy. She is such a fun and funny girl.
Mother's Day at the Park
In honor of Mother's Day today, we took a picnic lunch to the park in New Cumberland. It was really windy, so our picnic was a little chilly and rushed. Afterwards, the girls went and played on the play ground a bit, mostly climbing and sliding. Even though the park wasn't very crowded, it was busy at the play ground - all the kids were probably trying to keep warm!
On the way back to the car, we stopped to look at the dam and waterfall on the Yellow Breeches Creek, which runs next to the park. We posed for a few photos and looked at the water. Then we strolled down along the water a little bit to see the baby geese who were all fuzzy and cute. The girls finished off the walk with their favorite activity - flower picking - which has netted us many, many bouquets of dandelions over the past few weeks.
Hula Girl
Megan helped out our neighbor, Julie, with cleaning up her yard a couple weeks ago. After she got bored with raking, she spotted the hula hoops Julie had from when her daughters were younger. Megan tried it out and was intrigued. Julie let her bring the blue one home and she's been practicing ever since! With a little help from one of the neighbor kids, Megan has become pretty good at hula hooping. She can keep it up for quite a while when she tries...and when she's not being goofy!
